PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A local man was arrested Monday afternoon following an investigation into allegations of theft and sexual offenses, police said.
According to the Paducah Police Department, a woman reported in December 2025 that she had previously worked for Vikaskumar Patel at a local business. She told investigators she entered into an agreement with Patel to rent an apartment from him during her employment.
After moving into the apartment, the woman said Patel began withholding her entire wages, which she stated was not part of their rental agreement. Detectives confirmed the woman’s wages were deposited into a bank account belonging to Patel, police said.
The woman also reported that Patel repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances and inappropriately touched her during her employment.
During the investigation, a second woman provided detectives with additional information. She reported that while she was under the age of 18, she worked for Patel and was subjected to commercial sexual activity involving another man. She also reported that after leaving Patel’s employment, she was contacted to retrieve personal property and was later lured to a hotel room, where she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male, police said.
Patel was located and arrested Monday afternoon and was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
