Man charged in connection with fatal vehicle incident in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — On May 10, 2025, at approximately 11:59 p.m., Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 11000 block of Saraville Road.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 38-year-old male victim laying on the ground in the driveway of a residence. The victim had been struck by a truck, causing fatal injuries.

The victim was transported to Harrisburg Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:51 a.m. on May 11, 2025.

A search warrant was obtained, and evidence was recovered. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.

Trevor J. Stewart was arrested and cited for reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence, obstructing justice and reckless conduct.

Stewart was transported to the Williamson County Jail.
