Man charged with attempted human trafficking after runaway juvenile investigation

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A 26-year-old Illinois man has been extradited to Kentucky to face several charges, including attempted human trafficking, following an investigation involving a runaway juvenile.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, detectives began investigating during August after learning a juvenile had allegedly run away with an older man.
Deputies identified the vehicle the suspect was driving and used FLOCK cameras to determine it was traveling in Illinois. Illinois State Police stopped the vehicle, arrested the suspect and recovered the juvenile, according to the sheriff’s office.
Kenon Bradford, 26, of Erie, Illinois, was arrested Aug. 4 by Illinois State Police on a Kentucky arrest warrant.
Bradford was extradited to Kentucky on Monday, Aug. 25, and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Bradford is charged with custodial interference, attempted human trafficking involving commercial sexual activity and two counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over age 12 but younger than 18.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing and additional criminal charges are expected.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office credited Illinois State Police and the FBI with assisting in the investigation.
