Man dies after cliff jump at Kinkaid Lake Bluffs, authorities say

JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) — A 26-year-old man has died after jumping from the bluffs at Kinkaid Lake on Saturday evening, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews responded around 5:22 p.m. on June 21 after multiple 911 callers reported a possible drowning. Authorities say the man jumped into the water and was unable to make it back to shore.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office also thanked boaters on the lake for their cooperation during the emergency response.
