Man faces drug, gun charges after search of home in Whiteash
WHITEASH, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces several drug charges after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant in Whiteash.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 213 Sanders Avenue in Whiteash at 11:47 a.m. on Thursday, August 15.
Sheriff’s deputies say the home was the subject of a multi-state narcotics distribution operation which has been the target of a ten month investigation.
Agents conducting a search of the home say they found 5.84 pounds (2651.1 grams) of methamphetamine, a CAI Georgia VT .45 CAL handgun, drug packaging materials, $30,582 of U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.
“WCSO continues to provide a warning to those who operate drug houses which poison our community. We are not deterred and will continue our efforts to shut down these operations,” said Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich.
Randall C. Atkinson faces charges of methamphetamine delivery (Class X felony), methamphetamine possession (Class X felony), possession of weapon by felon (Class 3 felony), possession of cannabis (Class 4 felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).
Atkinson was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
