Man faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing from deceased person

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces charges after allegedly stealing from a deceased person.
According to Cape Girardeau Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a report of theft.
A 2010 Dodge Charger and a 2007 white Dodge Ram dually were reported stolen along with a safe from a deceased persons residence on county road 635.
It was later reported that one of the stolen vehicles had been spotted in Cape Girardeau.
After investigation officers were led to 38-year-old John Jungers of McClure Illinois.
According to documents Jungers was on electronic monitoring during the time the items were stolen.
Evidence from his electronic monitor placed him at the home where the items were stolen from.
Documents say the victim passed away a day before Thanksgiving due to health complications and the items were reportedly stolen on December 18 and 19th.
Jungers was arrested and faces multiple charges including burglary and two counts of stealing.
He’s currently being held in the Cape Girardeau jail.
