Man faces several charges after vehicle burglaries

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Melber man faces charges after an investigation into several vehicle burglaries.

Anthony Jones, 21, of Melber faces three counts of receiving stolen property firearm (Class D felony), one count of receiving stolen property O/$1000 (Class D felony), one count of possession of marijuana (Class A misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a follow-up investigation at a home in the Melber area of McCracken County on April 18 after receiving information from different sources.

During a search of the home, detectives found numerous items that had been reported stolen along with other items that were believed to be stolen. Detectives also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia within the home, according to the sheriff’s office.

McCracken County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to keep their vehicles locked. Thefts from unlocked vehicles continue to be an ongoing issue. The simplest and most effective way to combat these types of thefts is to lock your vehicles.
