Man faces stealing, drug charges in Portageville after stolen motorcycle found

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces stealing and other charges after a motorcycle was stolen in Marston.

Christopher J. Long, 46, of Marston faces of stealing – motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft (Class D felony), tampering with motor vehicle 1st degree (Class D felony), possession of controlled substance (Class D felony) and driving while revoked/suspended (Class E felony).

The New Madrid Police Department Communications was notifed by the Portageville Police Department on Saturday, July 16 around 8:35 p.m. of a 2003 Suzuki motorcyle that was stolen in Marston.

Portageville police officers found someone driving the motorcycle southbound on Highway 61 around 8:43 p.m. They conducted a traffic stop and learned Long had a revoked driving status. Police say he was also in possession of narcotics related items.

His bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety.
