Man facing assault charges after complaint of threatening co-workers with gun

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces charges in Marion after sheriff’s deputies say they received a report of a man threatening people with a gun.

Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 10900 Redco Drive in Marion on Saturday, January 6 to a report of a man threatening co-workers with a gun.

As deputies arrived they saw the suspect leaving the scene.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Ronald L. Bellamy. Sheriff’s deputies say Bellamy told them,  “I don’t have no gun on me.”

He was detained. A subsequent investigation recovered a black and silver Taurus 9mm handgun, two 9mm handgun magazines and eight rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Bellamy was arrested and faces charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault.

He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
