Man facing assault, strangulation charges in Murray

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces assault and strangulation charges after sheriff’s deputies reponded to a home in Murray.

Kevin Hopkins, 49, of Murray faces charges of assault 4th degree domestic violence-minor injury, strangulation 1st degree and unlawful imprisonment.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Buddy Lane in Murray on January 28 around 7:30 a.m.

The victim told deputies that Hopkins kept her against her will, physically assaulted her and grabbed her by the neck cutting off her airway where she could not breathe.

He was not found that night. A warrant was taken for his arrest.

Hopkins was arrested on Jan. 29. He was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
