Man facing drug charges after call of suspicious person sitting next to mailbox

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Benton, Ky. man faces drug charges in Calloway County after sheriff’s deputies were called about a suspicious person.
Angel F. White Jr., 47, of Benton, Ky. faces charges of public intoxication (excluding alcohol), possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense-methamphetamine (Class D felony) and possesion of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies responded to Cambridge Drive and Bailey Road in Murray on Thursday, February 15 around 6 p.m. in reference to a suspicious person.
A citizen reported that an unknown person was sitting next to her mailbox by her property.
Deputies found the person and say he appeared to be manifestly under the influence of intoxicants to the degree he was a danger to himself, according to sheriff’s deputies.
White Jr. was found to be in possession of illicit drugs.
He was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Detention Facility.
