Man facing drug charges after traffic stop in Herrin

HERRIN, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces drug and traffic charges after a traffic stop in Herrin.

Eric W. Aderholt faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, operating uninsured vehicle and disobey stop sign.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies saw a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations near the intersection of 13th Street and Poplar Street in Herrin at 7:48 p.m. on Sunday, February 4.

They conducted a traffic stop.

A K9 was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle which provided a positive alert to the odor of narcotics.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which found a clear plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies.

Aderholt was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
