Man facing drug charges after traffic stop in West Frankfort
WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces drug charges and a woman was cited for no driver’s license after sheriff’s deputies say they found methamphetamine during a traffic stop in West Frankfort.
Kimberly Flanders, 48, of Harrisburg was cited for no valid driver’s license.
Patrick Vaughan, 48, of McLeansboro faces charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine (Class 3 felony) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).
A Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a driver on State Highway 149 near Interstate 57 in West Frankfort at 1:49 a.m. on Thursday, July 11.
During the stop, the deputy determined that Flanders did not possess a valid driver’s license.
The deputy did a probable cause search of the vehicle. Authorities say they found methamphetamine and methamphetamine drug paraphernalia.
Flanders was cited and released.
Vaughan was taken to the Franklin County Jail and turned over to jail staff for processing.
West Frankfort police and Illinois State Police troopers assisted Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies.
