SYMSONIA, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces drug charges after the Graves County Sheriff’s Office received information about possible illegal drug activity at a home in the Symsonia community.

Graves County Deputy Zac Smith and Detective Sergeant Snapper Seaton responded to a home on McGuire Road in Symsonia around 9:30 a.m. on September 23.

The Sheriff’s Office had received information that there was possibly illegal drug activity occurring at this residence.

Deputies found that Carl L. McGuffie, 49, and the person of interest at this address, was currently on probation for drug related charges.

McGuffie faces charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense or greater, greater than two grams of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance 2nd degree. All drug charges will be firearm enhanced, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

McGuffie was arrested and charged with the following offenses.

McGuffie was taken to the Graves County RC Center and later transferred to an out of county facility by Graves County Jail staff.
