Man facing kidnapping, domestic assault charges in Scott City

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces felony kidnapping and domestic assault charges in Scott City.
Scott City police officrs responded to a 911 call of an assault on February 27.
As officers arrived and found a woman victim.
Willis Clarence Weaver is accused of assaulting and trying to kidnap a woman.
He faces charges of kidnapping second-degree and domestic assault third degree.
Police say according to statements, Weaver grabbed the victim by the arm, forced her to his vehicle, tried to make her leave with him and was trying to force her inside.
The victim was able to get away with the help of a neighbor.
Officers saw injuries to the woman.
Police say Weaver had been riding around Scott City with two small children trying to locate the woman.
She told Weaver her location. An argument started and police say she was assaulted.
Weaver left the scene before law enforcement officers arrived. He was soon located by officers, stopped and arrested.
He was taken to the Scott City Police Department on a no bond warrant issued by Judge Horack Division 5 judge of Scott County.
