Man facing meth charge after police chase into briar patch

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces methamphetamine and fleeing police charges after a police chase into a briar patch in Graves County.

James M. Majors, 42, of the Farmington area of Graves County faces charges of resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police.

Graves County sheriff’s deputies, while in the area of Usher Road in a field and wooded area, found Majors who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants charging him with methamphetamine and other charges on Friday, January 5 around 4:30 p.m.

Sheriff Jon Hayden says Majors ran from the deputies but was arrested in a briar patch.

Deputy Ben Doran, one of the deputies involved in the arrest, was later treated at Jackson Purchase Medical Center and received stitches after an injury to his hand.

Majors was additionally charged with resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police.

He was taken to an out of county jail facility.
