Man found dead in Graves County shooting; case headed to grand jury

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting reported Thursday morning in the 600 block of Kingston Road near the Pea Ridge Road intersection, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies and Kentucky State Police were dispatched to the scene at about 8:15 a.m. Feb. 6. Upon arrival, officers found Daniel Ray Jaco, 49, of Clinton, dead from a gunshot wound.
Sheriff’s Office detectives, Kentucky State Police detectives and the Graves County Coroner’s Office spent the day collecting evidence and conducting interviews, including consultations with the Graves County Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Officials said the shooter has been identified and there is no threat to the public. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
Authorities said evidence collected in the case will be presented to a Graves County grand jury on Tuesday, Feb. 10. An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, in Louisville.
