Man, juvenile arrested after shots fired in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A man and a juvenile face charges after shots were fired in Carbondale on Monday, June 12.
Carbondale police responded to the 700 block of South Illinois Avenue regarding reports of shots fired at 12:15 a.m.
Officers found several vehicles that had been struck by gunfire and damage to a building in the area due to the gunfire.
No injuries were reported.
Detectives identified Michael O. Evans, 21, of Carbondale and a juvenile male as suspects in the shooting.
Evans and the juvenile were arrested on June 12.
Evans faces charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
The juvenile was detained in a juvenile detention center on charges related to the investigation.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
