Man wanted in Memphis, TN arrested in East Prairie, MO

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. (KBSI) – A man wanted in Memphis, Tennessee was arrested in East Prairie.

Daniel Gomez was accused of fireing on Memphis police.

On August 8, Memphis, Tennessee police responded to a home in Memphis for a domestic assault. While at the place where the assault occurred, Gomez allegedly came to the scene and opened fire on Memphis police, according to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office.

Information was gathered that Gomez left the Memphis area to southeast Missouri. The fugitive task force, comprised of the United States marshals and deputies from different counties was tasked with finding Gomez.

Deputies from the task force and the US Marshals found Gomez at a home in East Prairie. They maintained a visual of the home. Mississippi County sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant for where Gomez was located and he was arrested.
