Man with warrant makes Facebook post about Scott County Sheriff’s Department

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – On June 15th, 2024, officers with the Scott City Police Department were alerted of a social media post circulating on Facebook.
According to reports Mr. Stoffregen was holding and pointing a black revolver handgun at a marked Scott City Police Department unit from inside a room.
A caption on the post read “I spy… Scott County (laughing emoji) the gun is not real folks calm down.”
Scott County Sherriff’s Deputies and Scott City officers discovered that Corey Stoffregen had an active arrest warrant through the Scott County Sheriff’s Department. Officers located Stoffregen and he was arrested.
The weapon was also recovered.
Stoffregen facing charges of Unlawful possession of a firearm with a $7500 cash only bond.
