Man wrecks after suffering medical emergency while driving

McCracken County, Ky. (KBSI) – On July 10, 2024 around 6:47 am deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 2600 block of Estes Lane for a report of vehicle wreck involving a vehicle and one person with injury.

After investigation deputies learned that Keith Hays of Paducah was driving a 2015 F-150 truck heading east bound on Estes Lane.

Hays had a medical emergency causing him to lose consciousness and exit the roadway on the right-hand shoulder. Hays hit a large tree at the edge of the road before coming to a stop in a ditch.

Hays had to be extracted from the vehicle by mechanical means by the Reidland Farley Fire Department.

Hays was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Reidland Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ems, and Stovesand’s Towing.
