Marble Hill man dead after officer-involved shooting in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Marble Hill man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Madison County on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper responded to a 911 call of a sexual assault in progress at Amidon Conservation area in rural Madison County about 5:11 p.m. on January 25.
The caller reported the suspect was armed with a knife. Upon arrival, the trooper contacted the suspect, later identified as Ronnie D. Walker, 58, of Marble Hill. A physical altercation happened during which the trooper fired a single shot striking Walker.
The trooper rendered first aid before emergency medical services arrived. The Madison County coroner pronounced Walker dead at the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating. The investigation is ongoing. After the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Madison County prosecuting attorney for review.
