Marion Fire Department to host car seat safety check event

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — The Marion Fire Department will host a car seat safety check event this weekend to help ensure children are properly secured while traveling.

The event is scheduled for April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marion Training Center, 211 E. Boulevard.

Fire officials said certified technicians will provide child safety seat inspections, installation guidance and product recall checks. Informational materials will also be available.

The event will cover all types of restraints, including rear-facing and forward-facing car seats, booster seats and seat belts.

Officials noted that car seats will not be provided at the event.
