Marion man arrested on fentanyl charges

MARION, Ill., (KBSI)- On May 6th, 2024, the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested Roger Compton Jr., 29 of Desoto, IL., after an investigation into his role in the distribution of Fentanyl in the city of Marion.

A traffic stop was conducted that resulted in the recovery of Official Advanced Funds, drug records and a large amount of U.S. currency.

Compton was cited for Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) within 500 feet of a Protected Place (Ray Fosse Park) and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl).

Compton was taken to the Williamson County Jail and is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
