Marion Police Department releases Labor Day traffic stops and citations report

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – Marion Police Department conducted a total of 49 traffic stops and additional citations during the recent Labor Day campaign.

According to the Marion Police Department, the citations include

  • 17 seat belt citations
  • 10 distracted driving
  • 4 suspended/revoked/not valid driver’s license
  • 8 criminal arrests
  • 11 “other” traffic citations

Marion Police Department along with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout Illinois conducted the “Drive Sober Get Pulled Over/ Drive High. Get a DUI” over the Labor Day weekend.

The “Drive Sober Get Pulled Over/ Drive High. Get a DUI” enforcement campaign was implemented to make the roads safer and was made possible by federal highway safety funds distributed by the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to Marion Police Department.
