Marshall County Schools remembers 2 lives lost in 5th anniversay since school shooting

BENTON, Ky. (KBSI) – Monday, January 23 marks five years since the deadly school shooting at Marshall County High School. Two students were killed. Fifteen people suffered gunshot wounds, including the two students killed.

Bailey Nicole Holt, 15, and Preston Ryan Cope, 15, were killed in the shooting.

Marshall County Schools posted on its Facebook page that the school is kicking off Kindness Week at the high school.

A moment of silence was observed at the school Monday morning. A wreath was placed in the commons area in remembrance of the lives lost.

The school will also hold the annual Marshall County Strong Blood Drive on Jan. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It is at the Marshall County High School located at 416 High School Road in Benton, Ky.  Tap here to register for a donation time.
