MARTIN, Tenn., (KBSI) – C-Shift personnel from the Martin Fire Department, along with Martin 911 dispatchers and Martin police officers, have been recognized with Life-Saving Awards for their response to a March 13 medical emergency.

Crews responded to a seizure call and were updated en route that CPR was in progress. Within four minutes, responders arrived, assumed care and continued resuscitation efforts. The patient was defibrillated with a Zoll X Series monitor, and an AutoPulse device was used to provide mechanical compressions.

Return of spontaneous circulation was achieved within two minutes, and CPR was discontinued. The patient was transported to Volunteer Community Hospital, then flown to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where they made a full recovery with no deficits.

Personnel were recently presented with lifesaving certificates and challenge coins from Zoll in recognition of their efforts.
