Martin police investigating after vehicle hit with gunfire

MARTIN, Tenn. (KBSI) – Martin police are investigating after someone reported he was shot at an intersection Monday night.
A person reported that his vehicle had been shot at on Main Street near the intersection of Virginia Street around 9:03 p.m. on June 24.
The victim said an SUV passed him on Main Street and ran the stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and College Street. When the SUV approached Virginia Street, it stopped in front of the victim’s vehicle.
Police say a passenger got out of the SUV on the passenger side with a handgun.
The victim drove around the SUV and as he did, the man fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle.
The victim drove to safety and called 911 to report it.
The SUV left the area in an unknown direction of travel.
Further investigation revealed that the victim’s vehicle was struck by two of the bullets that were fired.
The victim was not harmed.
