“Mass Action” lawsuit filed by Mayfield tornado candle factory survivors 

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – A second lawsuit has been filed against the Mayfield Consumer Products (MCP) candle factory just a few days shy of the one-year anniversary of the tornado that killed and injured at least nine employees. 

The new lawsuit filed by seven tornado survivors and three victims’ estates alleges (MCP) and Supervisor Justin Bobbitt are liable alleging false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violation of Kentucky statutory law. 

In a document obtained by FOX 23, the group is asking for compensation for harms suffered, losses incurred, and damage allegedly caused by MCP and Babbitt to name a few.  

This lawsuit is similar to the one filed back in March by eight other former co-employees is currently pending in Federal Court in Paducah.
