CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center will host a mass casualty training exercise Monday on its campus.
The hands-on training is designed to provide real-world experience for students and area emergency medical services teams.
Officials said residents may see ambulances and other emergency vehicles at the campus throughout the day but emphasized the activity is part of a planned training scenario.
School officials said the exercise is intended to help prepare future first responders and strengthen coordination with local emergency services.
Parents and community members are asked not to be alarmed by the increased emergency presence.
