Mayfield man airlifted after single-vehicle crash in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — One person was airlifted to a Nashville hospital following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 4:26 p.m. Feb. 10 to the intersection of Folks School Road and KY 339 South, between Dublin and Wingo in the Baltimore community.

Investigators determined Ashton Mason, 22, of Mayfield, was driving a 2002 Dodge Durango northbound on KY 339 South when the vehicle traveled off the shoulder of the roadway.

Authorities said Mason attempted to re-enter the roadway before striking a bridge and coming to rest in a creek.

Mason was transported by Mayfield-Graves County EMS to the Wingo Elementary School baseball fields, where he was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for treatment of his injuries.

Deputy Chad Hall investigated the crash, with assistance from Sgt. Richard Edwards, Deputy Greg Sloan, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, the Mayfield Fire Department, Air Evac and the Wingo Fire Department.
