Mayfield man arrested on domestic assault, officer assault charges

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) – A Mayfield man was arrested early Sunday after police responded to a report of domestic assault at a local residence, the Mayfield Police Department said.

Officers were dispatched around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 30 and detained Anthony Sanchez, 21, while they investigated the incident. After speaking with the victim and reviewing the scene, officers placed Sanchez under arrest.

Police said Sanchez became combative as officers attempted to take him into custody. He was charged with second-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Sanchez was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center.
