Mayfield man dies in ATV crash in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A third person died in an all-terrain vehicle crash in eight days in Marshall County.
A Mayfield man died in an all-terrain vehicle crash on Monday in Marshall County.
James Burgess, 51, of Mayfield was driving an ATV on Harrison Road. He lost control of the vehicle around a curve and it flipped over into a ditch and landed on him, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Marshall County Coroner Kenny Pratt.
It happened around 4:38 p.m. on Memorial Day.
Pratt says Burgess was the only person in the side-by-side.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Coroner, Marshall County Rescue Squad and West Marshall Fire Department responded to the scene.
Last Sunday an 18 year old died in an ATV crash. On Memorial Day, Pratt responded to two deadly ATV crashes in the county.
