Mayfield man facing drug charges after foot chase with detective

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – A man faces drug charges after a foot chase Friday afternoon in Mayfield.
Jeffrey D. Blake, 69, of Mayfield faces two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine 3rd offense and one count each of fleeing of evading police, resisting arrest, possession of controlled substance 3rd degree and possession of marijuana.
at approximately 3:30PM after a foot chase in Mayfield for drug trafficking.
Graves County Sheriff’s detectives, as part of an undercover drug investigation, say they previously purchased crystal methamphetamine from Blake.
Sheriff’s detectives went to the area the afternoon of Friday, April 26 to find and arrest Blake on an active arrest warrant charging him with trafficking in methamphetamine 3rd offense.
As Det. Snapper Seaton found Blake in the street on Ridgeway, Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden says Blake broke loose from Seaton and knocked his police radio away as the detective was asking for assistance.
Sheriff Hayden says Blake ran into a wooded area where after a physical altercation, he was arrested.
Sheriff Hayden says Blake was in possession of a 10.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, dosage units of Lorazepam, dosage units of Suboxone and a small quantity of marijuana.
Blake has previous convictions for trafficking in methamphetamine (one in 2021 and another in 2022).
He was taken to an out of county detention facility.
