Mayfield man facing endangering welfare of minor, drug, other charges

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Mayfield man faces endangering the welfare of a minor, drug and other charges after sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in reference to a suspect with warrants.

Michael E. Gouin, 37, faces charges of possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a minor and bench warrants for non-payment of court costs, fines or fees (nine counts).

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Peeler Road on October 31 around 1:30 a.m. in reference to a suspect with warrants.

Gouin was found to have syringes containing what is believed to be an illicit drug. The syringes were in a location that was accessible by a small child that was present in the home, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies.

While he was being arrested, sheriff’s deputies say he began yelling and tried to pull away and resist.

He was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
