Mayfield police arrest man after disturbance reported in roadway

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Mayfield Police Department arrested a Mayfield man after officers responded to a report of a man in the roadway swinging a bat on Jan. 5.

Police said officers located Leonard Starks, 63, holding and swinging two sticks while naked. Investigators said Starks appeared to be under the influence of illegal drugs and had caused extensive property damage inside a residence before officers arrived.

Starks was taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and charged with second-degree indecent exposure, menacing, public intoxication involving a controlled substance, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and first-degree criminal mischief.

No injuries were reported.
