Mayfield police arrest man following reported theft

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Mayfield Police Department arrested a man Tuesday, Jan. 6, following a reported theft at a local convenience store.

Police said an officer responded after the store owner reported an item had been stolen. After reviewing security video and obtaining a license plate number, the officer located Luis Angel Lemus Ramirez, 34, at a local mechanic shop.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Ramirez was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later booked into the McCracken County Jail. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking, shoplifting involving property valued under $500, and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license.
