Mayfield police arrest man on drug, firearms charges

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Mario Rosas-Casteneda, 18, of Mayfield, was arrested by the Mayfield Police Department on August 12.

Rosas-Casteneda was charged with multiple offenses, including trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges included alcohol intoxication and illegal possession of alcohol.

A loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine was seized by police, who believe it may be connected to drug trafficking.

Rosas-Casteneda was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
