Mayfield police arrest man on multiple charges following kidnapping, shooting incident

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Kendrick Owens, 33, of the Paducah/Mayfield area, was arrested on multiple charges following a kidnapping and shooting incident on Feb. 16.
According to police, Owens threatened a victim, leading to a hours-long ordeal in which the victim was forced to drive Owens around Mayfield. Owens allegedly fired a handgun seven times, striking the vehicle’s windshield, radio display, and rear window.
Owens also physically assaulted the victim, causing bodily injury. The victim managed to escape, and Owens fled the city.
Owens was arrested the following day by the Hopkinsville Police Department on unrelated warrants. Mayfield police served Owens with warrants related to the incident, charging him with:
— Kidnapping
— Seven counts of wanton endangerment
— Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
— Assault
— Theft
— Interfering with communications
— Criminal mischief
— Theft of a firearm
