MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A Mayfield woman has been charged after police say she fabricated a hit-and-run in an attempt to collect insurance money.
Officers with the Mayfield Police Department responded Wednesday to a report of a vehicle striking Veronica Reynolds, 49, in a hit-and-run. Following an investigation, including a confession, police determined Reynolds had staged the incident and falsely claimed injuries from the crash.
Investigators said Reynolds was attempting to obtain an insurance payout for an injury she already had.
She was arrested and taken to the Graves County Restricted Center on a charge of false report generating an emergency response.
