Mayfield woman arrested after struggle during traffic stop on KY 58

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – A Mayfield woman was arrested early Saturday after allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting deputies during a traffic stop on KY 58 at Cherry Drive, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., Deputies Tanner Bazarnyj and Austin Ramage conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Andrea Farmer, 44, of Mayfield.

Deputies reported observing signs of impairment and asked Farmer to exit the vehicle. She allegedly refused, and a struggle ensued during which Farmer kicked the deputies while being taken into custody.

After Farmer was secured in a patrol vehicle, deputies searched her car and found marijuana, methamphetamine, pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Farmer was charged with:

  • DUI, 1st offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Assault, 3rd degree (on a police officer)
  • Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Multiple traffic offenses

She was lodged in an out-of-county jail facility.
