PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Four Paducah residents were arrested this week following a McCracken County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a string of storage unit burglaries on Tharp Drive.

Deputies said the investigation began Aug. 15 after multiple burglaries were reported at the facility. Detectives set up surveillance and, around 4 a.m. Sept. 16, observed two men on bicycles near the units. Soon after, deputies stopped an SUV with bicycles on its roof and identified the occupants as Joshua Owen, 36, and Christopher Young, 53.

At the storage facility, deputies found several locks cut and items staged outside units. Surveillance video showed Owen and Young on bicycles carrying tools commonly used in burglaries. Both were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including third-degree burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and drug-related charges.

A search warrant was later executed at Owen’s residence on Lorine Lane, where deputies arrested Joseph Abbott, 36, who was wanted on two warrants. Deputies also seized methamphetamine, other narcotics and property linked to the storage unit burglaries.

Natasha Gill, 37, was later taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine related to the drugs found at the residence.

Charges:

Joshua Owen, 36: Ten counts of third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, possession of burglary tools, tampering with physical evidence, multiple drug possession charges, possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree criminal mischief.

Christopher Young, 53: Third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, possession of burglary tools, tampering with physical evidence and multiple drug possession charges.

Joseph Abbott, 36: First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
