McCracken County coroner identifies remains found in December

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Coroner’s Office has identified human remains found in a shallow grave in December 2025 on Broyles Avenue.
Officials said the remains were identified as Dillard Howery following extensive forensic analysis, including DNA testing, conducted with assistance from the Office of the State Medical Examiner and the Kentucky State Police Division of Forensic Services. Next of kin have been notified.
The coroner’s office said the identification was the result of a coordinated effort among multiple agencies, including the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. Detective Lindsey Miller was recognized for her work on the case.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Howery’s death remains ongoing. No additional information has been released.
Officials said plans are being made for a graveside service with military honors, which will be open to the public.
