MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX23) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted following a vehicle pursuit Monday.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Michael Allen Young, 37, on Old U.S. Highway 45 near St. John’s Church on July 13.

Investigators said Young refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit. The chase was later terminated because of what officials described as Young’s dangerous and reckless driving.

The vehicle was later found abandoned near the intersection of North 11th Street and Fern Avenue in Paducah.

During the pursuit, deputies said Young drove recklessly, creating a substantial risk of serious injury to motorists and law enforcement officers. Investigators also allege he threw suspected drug-related evidence from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, warrants have been issued charging Young with:

  • First-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle)
  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

The sheriff’s office said Young is believed to have ties to the McCracken County area. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office at 270-444-4719 or submit an anonymous tip through West Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL.

Authorities warned the public not to approach Young and to contact law enforcement if he is seen.
