McCracken County High School students selected for prestigious honors academy

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Eight McCracken County High School juniors have been selected for the prestigious Commonwealth Honors Academy at Murray State University.

Six students — MaKenzie Burgett, Isabella Maxfield, Landon Nichols, Madilyn Shelby, Calyssa Stallings and Conner Campbell — have been officially selected to attend the three-week residential summer program.

Isaac Arant and Alexandra Leslie were named as alternates.

The Commonwealth Honors Academy is a selective program that promotes academic, personal and social growth. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and a composite ACT score of 25 or higher.

Participants will engage in a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum and can earn six hours of university credit and a four-year full tuition scholarship to Murray State University.
