McCracken County judge appoints new jailer

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer has appointed Stephen Andrew Carter as the new county jailer, effective Aug. 1.

Carter will replace retiring Jailer David Knight. Clymer cited Carter’s experience, dedication and training as qualifications for the position.

Carter has worked in the McCracken County jail system since 2009, holding various roles including deputy jailer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and chief deputy jailer.
