McCracken County man facing charges after high speed chase

MCCRACKEN COUNTY Ky. (KBSI) – A Kentucky man faces charges after sheriff’s deputies say he led them on a high-speed chase until his vehicle caught fire.

On June 17, 46-year-old Johnny Day of Lone Oak refused to stop when a deputy attempted to pull him over for speeding.

Day continued to speed leading the deputy down several roads in southern McCracken County and Graves County, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle caught fire and Day was arrested.

Day faces charges of speeding, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of owner to maintain insurance, criminal mischief 1st degree and fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle).
