McCracken County man sentenced to 10 years after meth trafficking conviction

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A McCracken County man will serve a 10-year prison sentence following a two-day jury trial that resulted in convictions for trafficking in methamphetamine and being a persistent felony offender, authorities said.

A McCracken County jury on Jan. 7 convicted Jody Crenshaw, 52, of trafficking in methamphetamine and first-degree persistent felony offender. The jury returned its verdict after about 10 minutes of deliberation. Crenshaw was immediately taken into custody and lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail, where he will remain pending formal sentencing.

The convictions stem from a 2024 investigation conducted by narcotics detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by the McCracken County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

Because of the persistent felony offender conviction, Crenshaw is not eligible for probation or parole and will be required to serve the full 10-year sentence, officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said the case underscores ongoing cooperation between local law enforcement and prosecutors to combat drug trafficking in the county. Anyone with information about illegal activity is encouraged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office or submit an anonymous tip through West Kentucky Crime Stoppers.
