McCracken County School employee arrested on rape charges

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) – A McCracken County school employee was arrested Thursday on charges of rape and unlawful transaction with a minor, authorities said.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began after a juvenile reported that Julio Estrada, 30, engaged in illegal sexual contact with her about a year ago. Detectives said evidence was found that corroborated the victim’s account.

After consulting with the McCracken County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, detectives arrested Estrada around 4 p.m. at his home in Reidland. A search warrant was also executed at the residence.

Estrada is charged with four counts of third-degree rape and one count of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

The investigation remains ongoing. Agencies assisting include the McCracken County Schools Police Department, McCracken County Public Schools and the Paducah Police Department.
