McCracken County Schools appoint new principal
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — McCracken County Public Schools has appointed Matt Houser as principal of Lone Oak Middle School, effective July 1.
Houser began his education career as a classroom teacher at Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary School in 2006. He later served as assistant principal and principal at Lone Oak High School before its consolidation into McCracken County High School (MCHS).
Houser served as assistant principal and principal at MCHS for five years.
“I’m excited to join Lone Oak Middle School and become part of a culture that values excellence, growth and student success,” Houser said.
Houser holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Arts in school administration from Murray State University.
Superintendent Josh Hunt said Houser’s experience and commitment to students make him an excellent choice for the position.
Current Principal Coye Elliott will transition to a new role at the McCracken County Board of Education this summer.
